This is a relaxed-paced island-hopping itinerary designed to balance birding with leisure. Most birding excursions take place during the cooler morning hours, leaving afternoons free to enjoy the beaches, pools, spas and facilities of the carefully selected accommodation.

Transfers between islands have been planned to be smooth and efficient, ensuring the tour never feels rushed. The pace is comfortable throughout and particularly well suited to those who enjoy birding but also want time to appreciate the wider Seychelles experience.

Most birding takes place on well-maintained trails, nature reserves and island footpaths. Walks are generally short and taken at a relaxed pace with frequent stops for birdwatching and photography. The itinerary is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of mobility and does not involve strenuous hiking.

Aride Island, Cousin Island, Denis Island and the Veuve Reserve all provide excellent opportunities for bird photography, whilst the granite coastlines, turquoise waters and lush tropical forests create endless opportunities for landscape and travel photography.

Best Time To Travel

Birding in the Seychelles is rewarding throughout the year, with most endemic species resident and visible in all seasons.

For seabirds, the period between April and October is often particularly productive, whilst calmer seas generally occur during the transition months of April-May and October-November. The islands enjoy a warm tropical climate year-round, making them suitable for travel at almost any time.

The Seychelles is one of the world’s leading conservation success stories, and this itinerary actively supports a number of the islands’ most important conservation initiatives through visits to protected reserves such as Cousin Island and Aride Island.
